Those who had at least a 1-year pre-period (diagnosis year 1999–2009) were 80,154 patients and matched with 327,402 control subjects, while those who had at least a 1 year after-period (diagnosis year 1998–2008) were 82,484/333,994, respectively. The distributions of their age, gender and marital status were consistent with those of the full population
